How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose your originals

Choose HEIC/HEIF files or a folder with subfolders. Queue up to 1000 photos; only the current batch is processed.

  2. Set quality and size

Start at 90% for everyday sharing. Keep the original dimensions, or choose a smaller size.

  3. Convert and download

Review and download the current batch. Check that the files are saved, then choose Saved — continue to release the results and convert the next batch.

A website or app may accept JPG but reject an iPhone’s HEIC photo. Converting makes a new file for that destination. Keep the original for editing and archiving: a JPG may be larger, and it does not retain every feature of the HEIC. JPG and JPEG are names for the same image format.

Convert iPhone photos on your phone or computer

On iPhone or iPad

Choose original HEIC files from Files. The photo picker may provide a JPG copy instead. After conversion, use the downloaded JPG in the app or form that rejected your original.

On Windows or Mac

Drag HEIC photos into the converter in your browser. No desktop converter or extra image-viewing extension is needed for this tool. Download the JPGs individually or extract the ZIP.

For a large batch

Keep this tab open. Up to 1000 photos can wait in the queue; each batch contains at most 30 photos or 200 MB of input. After saving, continue to the next batch without reselecting files. Closing or reloading the page clears the queue.

Batch-convert a folder of HEIC photos

Choose one folder, including its subfolders, to queue up to 1000 HEIC/HEIF photos. Other formats, invalid files and detected duplicates are skipped with counts. Convert one photo at a time in batches of up to 30 photos or 200 MB of input, with 40 MB per file and 200 MB of retained JPG results. Download the current batch and verify it is saved, then choose Saved — continue to release results and process the waiting photos. Originals are untouched and nothing is uploaded. Each batch ZIP is flat; duplicate output names receive unique numbers across batches.

GOOD TO KNOW

HEIC to JPG questions

01Is this HEIC to JPG converter free?

Yes. Conversion and downloads are free, without an account or watermark. Queue up to 1000 photos, with 40 MB and 50 megapixels per file. Each active batch contains at most 30 photos and 200 MB of input; retained JPG results are limited to 200 MB. Photos are processed one at a time. Save and release results before continuing; your originals remain unchanged.

02Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. This converter reads and converts your photos in your browser. Files are not sent to QuietTake or a third-party image service. Clear the batch or close the page to release them. Other QuietTake tools may use online processing; their pages explain this separately.

03Can I batch-convert HEIC to JPEG?

Yes. JPG and JPEG are the same format; downloads use .jpg. Select files or a folder once to queue up to 1000 photos. Convert the current batch, download individual JPGs or its ZIP, and verify they are saved. Then choose Saved — continue to release those results and process the next batch. Failed or unconverted files remain available. Keep this tab open; the queue is not restored after closing or reloading.

04Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?

JPEG is lossy, even at the highest quality setting. Keep original dimensions to avoid resizing, or choose a smaller size for sharing. Location and camera metadata, HDR, depth data, Live Photo video and the original color profile are not preserved. Colors can change; keep the original HEIC and inspect your JPG.

05Does it work on iPhone, Windows and Mac?

Use a current browser with WebAssembly and Web Workers, such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Choose the original HEIC file when available. Large photos can exceed a mobile browser’s memory; try a smaller batch or a computer if conversion fails.

06Why did a HEIC photo fail to convert?

An incomplete file, unsupported HEIF encoding or limited device memory can prevent conversion. Renaming a file to .heic does not change its format. Re-export the original and retry. For containers with multiple images, this tool exports the primary still image only, not Live Photo motion.

07Can I convert a folder and its subfolders from HEIC to JPG?

Yes, in browsers with folder selection. Choose the folder once, including subfolders, and add up to 1000 HEIC/HEIF photos to the queue. Only a bounded batch is processed at a time. Save the current JPGs or batch ZIP, check the download, and choose Saved — continue; remaining admitted photos stay queued without another selection. Keep the tab open because the queue cannot be restored after closing or reloading. Your originals are never changed. If folder selection is unavailable, select files directly.
